It takes constant commitment and attention today to still have a planet tomorrow. And every kilo of plastic counts, it is a weight that can make a difference: it is the spirit that animates Plastic Free, the voluntary organization committed since 2019 to informing and raising awareness as many people as possible about the dangers of plastic pollution.
Millions of users, more than 260,000 volunteers, over 8,000 plastic and other waste collection events: with Plastic Free, Almaviva has started a collaboration process on the occasion of the national "Sea & Rivers" event in 2023 and every year promotes cleaning opportunities environmental on beaches, green areas and neighbourhoods, involving employees, family members, customers and collaborators throughout the national territory.
Every year, millions of tons of plastic end up in our oceans, rivers and natural areas. Plastic does not decompose, it can persist for centuries, accumulating and causing serious damage to terrestrial and marine habitats. It threatens not only flora and fauna, but also people's health, compromising the ecosystems on which we all depend.
Each person generates, on average, 1 kg of waste per day, of which around 20% is plastic. This means that every year we produce an impressive amount of waste, with a significant part made up of non-biodegradable plastic. Today, sustainability is a collective responsibility. Reducing our daily impact is essential to guarantee a sustainable future for the Planet.
Almaviva is committed every day to correctly sorting waste, reducing the amount of plastic, and implementing environmental protection initiatives with partners such as Plastic Free.
