AlmavivA will present its best practices for the maritime industry at the International PORT&SHIPPINGTECH Forum dedicated to “Technology Innovation for the development of the Maritime Cluster”, taking place in Genoa on 19 and 20 September 2013, an event in the broader Genoa Shipping Week, from 16 to 22 September, featuring events on shipping, logistics and technology innovation for the maritime sector, highlighting the sector’s key role in the development of the worldwide economy.

The speech by Mr. Gianni Vottero, Program Manager of the Transportation Division, is on “An information management approach to logistical nodes and integrated logistical services” and focuses on the ICT solutions for supporting intermodal logistics, especially with regard to ports and rail transport information.
With a view to achieving the selective concentration of investments, the development of ICT solutions is of great importance for improving the overall operation of such complex systems as logistical systems (smart logistics).
Regarding these systems, the spread of information at multimodal interchange nodes – ports in particular – and the processing of rail service information are vital for the smooth intermodal transportation of goods. The new technologies (Cloud and Solutions as a Service) can streamline the interoperability and access to the information required by the various stakeholders, at sustainable costs.
AlmavivA is a leading provider, in Italy, of IT services for the Transportation market, thanks to a longstanding and consolidated experience in the management of rail transport projects and intermodal logistics and the availability of resources with specific competences in respect of the logistical management processes relating to the life-cycle of freight transportation.

AlmavivA’s Transportation Division offering targets passenger (rail companies, LPT operators) and freight (MTO - multi-modal operator) transport operators, infrastructure managers (transport networks and logistics terminals), Port Authorities, the Local Governments (provincial and regional authorities) responsible for developing and supporting regional integrated transport networks and, last but not least, the Logistics Operators dealing with the “last mile” transport of goods.
