AlmavivA, working with the Ministry of Education at spreading the digital revolution in schools, has supported the management of over 1.5 million online enrollments, with significant savings for Government, reducing the impact on the environment by moving from paper to paperless and helping families save time.

At AlmavivA – Italy’s number one Information & Communication Technology provider – we are committed to digitizing the country and supporting the Ministry of Education, to make sure schools march in step with progress and cut back on consumption. Today’s success of online school enrollment is an example of this commitment, with a total of 1,558,246 enrollment applications recorded by the AlmavivA system, amounting to 99.40% of expectations

This Cloud solution, capable of managing huge amounts of data, is yet another success story for AlmavivA as the Ministry of Education’s partner for IT development.Compared to 2013, the system’s performance has increased considerably, making enrollments much easier and faster and achieving a 96% success rate. Considering last year’s savings – quantified in 84 thousand hours less work for school administration offices, saving both time for families and 5 million sheets of paper – this year’s improved performance will result in even better figures.

At the conclusion of the online enrollment process, each school now has an overview of the new student population, with the composition and number of pupils, in next to no time, accelerating lesson planning by about 6 months.

Entering the data on paper enrollment forms into the databases required hours and hours of work by the 10 thousand school administration offices nationwide, lengthening planning times considerably.

"We have upgraded the infrastructure to enable the Ministry to help over 41,000 schools each year work better and faster – said Mr. Antonio Amati, General Manager IT Division at AlmavivA – thanks to AlmavivA’s Cloud-based IT systems".

"The new technology and virtualization project can make the Ministry of Education’s IT infrastructure more and more streamlined and in step with progress, to successfully tackle the present and future challenges", he concluded.

Anticipating the potential of Cloud technology, AlmavivA has developed HyperCED®, one of the most important and innovative "Private Cloud" projects in Italy today, which manages the IT services of public entities and private companies, as well as of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.
