Alberto Tripi appointed Chairman of Confindustria Servizi Innovativi e Tecnologici

The new Confindustria Servizi Innovativi e Tecnologici, a Federation of Federcomin and Fita, grouping businesses providing innovatory and technological services, will be chaired by Alberto Tripi. The new Federation will represent an industry that counts 750,000 businesses and 2,200,000 employees and produces 18% of Italy’s GDP. A branch of the General Confederation of Italian Industry, the largest Italian employers’ organization, established in connection with the reform of the Confederation, it groups the activities producing technological, professional, managerial and organizational innovation and aims to increase the industry sector’s political weight and transform it into a spearhead for increasing productivity and modernizing the Country as a whole, a process that is already under way in our principal competitor countries. “This new Federation – says Alberto Tripi – was desired and promoted by Confindustria, proving that it has correct understood the processes of change under way in our economic system. The establishment of Confindustria Servizi Innovativi e Tecnologici is an acknowledgement of the challenge posed by globalization and the emerging markets and of the fact that this challenge cannot be met without the country, and the country’s manufacturing sector in particular, disposing of a strong fabric of innovatory services, integrated with cutting-edge facilities. The creation of a new Federation, therefore, represents the commitment by the entrepreneurial world to view technological and organizational innovation and knowledge as the cornerstone for relaunching the country’s economy. But in order for the project to succeed, it will be necessary to meet the expectations of structural reform and liberalization of the services market, with a view to offering the industry more opportunities for development and ensuring truly competitive conditions”. Confindustria Servizi Innovativi e Tecnologici will have a membership of 44 trade associations and 62 local grassroots sections, ranking among the largest Federations of the General Confederation of Italian Industry
