Italy’s number one ICT provider extends its employee benefits and schemes from 1 September

Italy’s number one ICT provider extends its employee benefits and schemes from 1 September.

Rome, 01/09/2015 – AlmavivA Group has strengthened its commitment to social responsibility, integration and equal opportunities, by deciding to further extend special paid leave, without discrimination, to its employees in a registered civil partnership or same-sex couples married abroad.

Effective from 1 September, the Group – which has 13,000 employees in Italy alone – has taken the trail-blazing decision to extend its employee benefits and schemes to employees in a registered civil partnership, or who are part of a same-sex couple married abroad, granting them paid leave for 15 consecutive days, as well as 3-day paid leave in the case of death or serious illness of the partner/spouse.

This decision, based on the principles of equal rights and respect for individual freedom, was inspired by daily exchanges with employees, their life stories and a complex social reality.

“Motivated by certain personal stories, and irrespective of any political considerations, we decided to take this important step for such a labor-intensive company as AlmavivA, and offer all our employees equal rights and acknowledgement of civil partnerships” says Ms. Marina Irace, Chief Human Resources Officer at AlmavivA Group, which counts 40,000 employees worldwide. “One of our goals is ensuring the respect and well-being of all people: this decision is a value investment for achieving this goal”.
