WI-LIFE STATION is one of the projects that has received a Digital360 Award, the contest organized by the Digital360 Group to find the best digital innovation in business proposals developed by hi-tech suppliers and startups in Italy.

The award was assigned to the project for the Internet of Things applied to Retail section. Wi-Life Station is an IoT platform for managing station Wi-Fi, offering real-time information (updates on correspondences, internal and external station pathways, weather forecasts, maps...) and passenger services, with a constant Wi-Fi connection. Wi-Life Station provides a tailored offering, based on the analysis of passenger flows, and enhanced station security.

The project, developed by AlmavivA with the start up Cloud4Wi, on behalf of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group, was inaugurated in the Milan stations, for Expo 2015, and is now active in the main stations of Rome as well.

THE CONTEST - The Digital360 project aims to create a mechanism for sharing the best experiences between businesses, suppliers, start-ups and institutions, in various fields of digital innovation. Targeting innovative businesses developing digital innovation projects for private enterprises or public bodies, the contest received a total of 140 projects. The winning projects were selected by a jury consisting of fifty chief information officers from some of the country’s major businesses
