Rome, 27th April 2017 – The framework agreement for Batch 3 of the Public Connectivity System (SPC) Cloud tender was signed by Consip and the temporary association of companies comprising AlmavivA (the principal), Almawave, Indra and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Already operational at the address www.spclotto3.it, the portal governs and manages the provision of services involving application cooperation, open data and big data. Through this tool, central and local public administration bodies can find all the necessary information concerning the regulatory framework, contractual documentation, guidelines for stipulating and executing executive agreements, and the procedures for adhering to the framework agreement.

The aim of the new services – according to the guidelines defined by the Agency for a Digital Italy (AgID) – is to value the body of information possessed by the public administration, through the development of big data systems to aid decision-making and business processes, ensure interoperability among applications and guarantee transparency of data among administrations and towards users of the services.

Adhering to the framework agreements will allow for containing costs, maintaining high quality standards and reducing the time-to-market of projects. Moreover, central and local public administration bodies will benefit from a reduction in the unit cost of services and in the administrative cost for single tenders, which will no longer be necessary.

The signing of the Batch 3 agreement for the Public Connectivity System (SPC) Cloud tender strengthens the activities of Consip and AgID geared towards the implementation of “digital growth” projects by public administration bodies: the initiatives and services are aimed at enacting the ICT three-year plan and developing the information systems of Italy’s public administration.
