Rome, 12 February 2015 – the AlmavivA Group confirms its participation once again in the now infamous radio campaign, "M'illumino di meno 2015 - I will use less light, 2015", launched by Caterpillar Radio2 to raise awareness about saving energy.

The Italian ICT Group is to be involved in the “energy silence” between 6 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on 13 February 2015, as a symbolic reminder that we are responsible for our own eco-compatible behaviour and policies.

Despite guaranteeing its 24-hour service, the Company will be switching off the central lighting and heating systems at its Rome and Milan offices – the workplace of 4,000 individuals – reducing energy use to an absolute minimum, and will bring forward the automatic light switch-off to 6 p.m.

Energy consumption will be monitored during the day by SEM, Smart Energy Management, the AlmavivA IT platform created for the market and also used at its own offices. Through SEM, the Group's central management in Via Casal Boccone in Rome has reduced per-capita energy consumption in the last five years by 63%, curbing emissions by approximately 50%.

For years, AlmavivA has been inspired by principles of environmental responsibility in its work and, on the occasion of the 2015 campaign, it will be relaunching its internal information and sharing campaign on sustainability, energy efficiency and informed use of resources.

Thanks to SEM, the AlmavivA Group has recently won the Olympics of Green architecture, the “Solar Decathlon 2014”, and the “HR Good Practices 2014” award. It also stood alongside Enea in the “Smart Village” project which won the “Smart City and e-Government Prize” for 2014 at the SMAU event in Rome.
