The 4th Plenary Meeting of the FORENSOR European research project gets under way

22-03-2017

The two-day event held in Florence is organised by AlmavivA

The 4th Plenary Meeting of the FORENSOR (FOREnsic evidence gathering autonomous seNSOR) research project, valid for the Security call of the Horizon 2020 programme, has just got under way at the Grand Hotel Savoy in Florence.

Over a two-day period, Tuscany’s capital city will host 25 European partners led by the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH): besides AlmavivA, the other participants include STMicroelectronics (IT), Fondazione Bruno Kessler (IT), JCP Connect (FR), Synelixis Solutions (GR), Visionware – Sistemas de Informaçao (PT), Vrije Universitet Bruxelles (BR), Policia Local de Valencia (SP), Policia Judiciaria – Ministerio da Justiça (PT), Israeli partner EMZA Visual Sense, and representatives of the External Advisory Board: the Police Force of Cape Verde, the Greek Navy and the Municipal Police of Chiusi.

Following the first review of the project by the European Commission, which took place successfully in Brussels last November, this meeting constitutes an important occasion for the partners to exchange views as they present the results achieved during the first year and a half of the project regarding the development of ultra-low-consumption intelligent visualisation sensors, refining of the relative algorithms, the infrastructure for secure communication and system integration activities. A live demo of the FORENSOR system will follow, after which the partners will analyse aspects pertaining to the so-called DaPPECL (Data Protection, Privacy, Ethical and Criminal Law) constraints.

The second day of the meeting will focus on the Pilots and Field Tests due to start in May – the city of Chiusi will be involved – headed by AlmavivA. The participants will then discuss the dissemination actions to be implemented for diffusing the results of the research project, while the afternoon session will be dedicated to the Advisory Board, which will express its opinion on the results attained and provide suggestions for any necessary improvements to the project.
