The Cloud as a competitive tool for digitalising the country, and governance capable of directing the government towards this goal, allowing communication between different bodies.
These are the topics at the heart of the presentation by Francesco Barbieri – Chief Innovation Officer from the Operations team at AlmavivA – at the conference for the presentation of the results of the 2014 Research Project by the Observatory for Cloud Computing in Government, organised by the School of Management and taking place on Wednesday 12 November 2014 in the Salone Fellini at the Rome Events Conference Centre.

The research was carried out with the following aims:

  • evaluating the position of the Italian government in the European context
  • identifying Cloud Computing best practices in central government at the European level
  • monitoring the different means of rationalising the infrastructural and applicative assets of local and central bodies of Italian government, with particular reference to the Digital Agenda
  • helping policy-makers identify the priorities to promote change

The morning session was dedicated to a meeting between government ICT policy-makers, ICT market suppliers, and lecturers and researchers from the School of Management, and it was a chance to discuss and analyse the level of use of Cloud Computing within the Italian government.

AlmavivA is also one of the event sponsors.
