Smart cities have been the subject of much discussion for some time now, and there is widespread funding for research in this regard, both public and private. What is AlmavivA's vision?

AlmavivA, having always played a role in Italy's development, is involved in important research and innovation for smart cities, or rather for smart communities, as a smart city can only exist where there is a smart community.

Too often, technology and hardware infrastructure is given great attention, in the belief that they can make our cities smart, and forgetting that technology is a tool for satisfying the needs of our communities, both today and in the future, according to a far-sighted strategic plan, which allows us to make investments that will endure the test of time and create value. Technology should ever increasingly become a commodity – like transport and energy networks. Innovation, on the other hand, should have an increasingly multidisciplinary character, to make a difference in the market place.
