Technological innovation at the service of the quality of city life and of environmental protection

TOP - The Remote Operations Center developed for the Province of Naples
The TOP is an infomobility solution for city users, developed by AlmavivA for the Province of Naples. The purpose of the solution is to provide real-time crucial mobility information to passengers through multiple communication channels (smartphone, tablet, pc,..), for multi-modal routing (using private vehicles, public transport, car sharing, bike sharing, etc.). Passengers can plan their journey using the inbus.provincia.napoli.it portal route planner, which provides information on how to get from A to B within the province using multiple transport modes. Bus schedule information can be obtained via the "Quando passa?" (When is it due?) function, which sends bus times by text message.
 
TOP has also been designed to manage the on-board CCTV systems and the passenger information displays, for providing information on public transport and traffic/road conditions. The TOP system can monitor the actual recording of revenues by the various transport operators and carry out qualitative and quantitative analyses of the services provided.
 
SEM - Smart Energy Management
AlmavivA has developed the SEM - Smart Energy Management - platform, which enables the "smart" use of energy consumption data, for the purpose of protecting the environment and cutting costs.
The SEM solution can be seamlessly integrated with other asset and facility management platforms, and allows the streamlined and economical acquisition of data from a number of buildings, to be processed, interpreted and transformed into crucial information for optimizing consumption. The data can be consulted in real time on a computer or mobile device, in any place and at any time, to support decision-making for rationalizing energy use management through analysis, monitoring and control.
 
Car Pooling
To help solve the problems relating to environmental sustainability, AlmavivA has developed a Car Pooling platform, through which:
  • users interested in using the system can get in touch via the Web;
  • the origin and destination addresses can be validated and the distance between them measured, based on geolocation systems;
  • any unexpected events can be managed in real time, by means of email/SMS alerts;
  • the cost of the journey can be calculated, in accordance with the best international practices, based on vehicle consumption and type of route;
  • the CO2 savings can be estimated, based on the kilometers travelled by the pooled vehicle.
 
EPORT Platform for the Port Authority of Genoa
AlmavivA manages, supports and provides evolutive maintenance services for the ePort IT system and related port user support services.
The system is used to streamline and ensure the sustainability of freight handling and transport movements within the Port of Genoa areas and facilities, and involves all the local Port stakeholders (forwarding companies, maritime agents, port terminal operators, haulers, customs offices, Coast Guard services, etc.) managing the authorization and document workflow processes, in respect of import/export operations.
 
URBIS RATIO - City Logistics solution for the distribution of goods
AlmavivA has developed this platform for the Agrifood and Logistics Center of Parma, for pooling and transferring data and information in real time, in connection with the distribution of goods, for the purpose of rationalizing logistical operations in urban areas and reducing the impact of traffic, in terms of congestion, pollution, safety, health and the quality of life.
The solution includes the following processes: receiving orders, planning deliveries, optimizing routes, booking and managing the parking areas for loading/unloading goods and location of the vehicle fleet.
Urbis Ratio has received the Italia degli Innovatori (Innovating Italy) Award by the Prime Minister's Office and the European Service Innovation Award.
 
MITT - Integrated Transport Mobility in Trentino
AlmavivA has developed this integrated paper and electronic ticketing solution for the Autonomous Province of Trento.
MITT enables the intermodal tariff integration between the various road and rail operators providing public transport services throughout the Province of Trento, ensuring the distribution of the revenue among the operators on the basis of the services actually provided.
The system manages contactless smart cards - for both integrated and differentiated tariffs - which can be used based on a multiservice rationale. The smart card is based on an open standard, which means that besides serving as an electronic ticket it can also be used to make small payments, for parking, buying theatre tickets, etc.
Furthermore, NFC systems have been successfully tested for mobile tickets and soon a low-cost smart card solution (chip on paper) will be launched for occasional users.
The system ensures an extensive range of recharge facilities, besides conventional ticketing services (self-service, ticket offices, etc.) cards can alternatively be recharged at cashpoints as well.
 
STV - Vehicle Tracking System
STV is a solution for monitoring solid waste collection vehicles and services developed by AlmavivA for Rome's municipal waste collection company AMA, through which the services provided by 1300 vehicles operating across the municipality of Rome are currently managed and controlled.

 

The System allows the continuous tracking of the position of the vehicles and of all the events recorded on the route. It can compare the actual to the scheduled service and supports the vehicle maintenance workshops through sensors and devices installed on the vehicles, signaling anomalies and alarms.
