AlmavivA sponsors the event promoted by Club Italia

AlmavivA has sponsored the Conference for the presentation of the guidelines for using bank cards in e-ticketing for collective transport, organized by Club Italia on 22 June, at the Cavour Congress Centre in Rome.

The document is the result of the research activities of a team of Italian public-sector transport companies: TPER Bologna, AVM Venezia, ATM Milano, Tiemme Arezzo, CTM Cagliari, GTT Torino, BusCompany Cuneo. Besides companies belonging to the Transportation sector, the Conference was also attended by the representatives of the central and local governments, public transport operators and other industry organizations.

“The state of the art concerning the application of bank cards in LPT – declared Club Italia – is still rather limited, in Europe and worldwide, because it depends directly on the massive distribution of contactless cards. In Italy, banks have only recently started distributing new C-less cards, according to a program that will take several years to replace all cards. Therefore, our organization thought that it would be a good idea to think ahead and anticipate the moment when almost everybody will have a contactless bank card.”

Club Italia’s ContactLess Technologies Users Board has the purpose of promoting, in Italy, the use of smartcard-based payment and access systems with contactless validation and infomobility systems. Our aim is to encourage the use of public transport by the general public, improving flexibility, safety, user-friendly payment systems and transport mode interaction.
