AlmavivA came second in the “HR Good Practices 2014” award at the 43rd National Congress of AIDP, the Italian Association for People Management T

he AIDP award is dedicated to recognising the development and results of companies in Italy which turn sustainability into a competitive element and a guiding principle in determining business strategies.
The projects of the seven finalists, selected from the 36 candidates by a board of experts, were judged by an almost 500-strong pool of qualified voters.

AlmavivA secured silver thanks to its innovative AlmavivA Green project.
AlmavivA chose an original approach: transforming the AlmavivA Group in terms of eco-sustainability, thanks to the joint commitment of Company and trade union. A mixed (Company-trade union) and wide-ranging Green Team (with representatives from all areas involved: Human Resources, Communications, General Services, Purchasing, Quality, etc.) was created, with the aim of promoting and coordinating all of the Company's Green activity.
Action has been taken to reduce consumption and the environmental impact of business activities by adopting models on behaviour and organisation, and plant and logistics management. Furthermore, AlmavivA's environmental portfolio has been updated, through the development of IT architecture and services based on energy-efficiency principles.
AlmavivA has developed and implemented SEM – Smart Energy Management, an IT platform used to monitor and rationalise the buildings' energy consumption at its offices.
By way of example, the 2009-2013 data are as follows: 60% reduction in per-capita energy consumption at the Roma Casal Boccone site, equal to 2,300 tonnes of CO2; a reduction in paper consumption from 16.9 kg/p to 8.3 kg/p; and a reduction of 1 million plastic bottles used per year.
Furthermore, the processing power of the AlmavivA Hyper Data Processing Facilities has tripled, reducing consumption by 45%, migrating from traditional processing systems to high-efficiency virtual systems.

The AlmavivA Green project has facilitated an increase in the quality of the industrial relations system, thanks to company-trade union collaboration for better communication and definition of common objectives.
