AlmavivA is awarded the tender to manage the Accounting and Budgetary System of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Italian Group, leader in Information Technology services, is confirmed as the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' technology partner

Rome, 31 July 2014 – A contract was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and AlmavivA, to provide for the management of the development, maintenance and other services associated with the Ministry's Integrated Accounting and Budgetary System.

AlmavivA won the restricted tender which saw 7 companies and Temporary Groupings of Companies prequalify out of the total 13 companies that had initially shown an interest in the tender. The services provided for in the contract, with a duration of 36 months and which is renewable for a further three years, include software development, systems development, maintenance for improvements, updates and corrections to applications, specialist support, as well as technical and operational assistance.

The system manages the economic programming and expense budgeting for the Ministry, the issuing of funding to offices abroad, and the reporting of financial data to the Ministry of Economics and Finance according to legislative requirements. The scope of the application will also include a web-based Inventory System of the assets held at offices abroad, and the Digital Signature Services Centre [CSFD], an advanced system to manage digital signatures.

This marks a significant outcome for AlmavivA that has always worked on developing the Government's information technology systems – ranging from accounting to agriculture, health to taxes, cultural heritage through to welfare, defence and security – and on modernising the country and providing ongoing support to public administrations in their technological and digital innovation.

AlmavivA has already implemented significant computerisation and training projects for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, such as: the Electronic Passport, the Integrated Budgetary System (the system being supplied), the Computer System for the General Directorate for Development Cooperation, the training provided for accounting staff of the Central Administrative Department and offices abroad.
