PRESS RELEASE
  • The Lazio TAR (Regional Administrative Tribunal) allows the application filed by AlmavivA
  • The tendering procedure for IT services to the Railways has been cancelled
  • Tripi: “The right decision for safeguarding employment and cost savings”

Commenting on the decision passed by the Regional Administrative Tribunal of Lazio to cancel the tendering procedure for the provision of IT services to the Italian State Railways, Ferrovie dello Stato, the Chairman of AlmavivA, Alberto Tripi, said: “We are obviously satisfied that the Lazio Tribunal allowed our application and rejected the specious objections presented by Sirti, invalidating the effects of the tendering procedure launched by FS for the Group’s IT services. Besides the serious procedural flaws that determined the invalidation of the tendering procedure, I would like to mention here that AlmavivA’s economic bid was 135 million euros lower than Sirti’s.

Moreover, as confirmed by an authoritative team of experts (comprising professors Livio Zoffoli, Guido Rey and Roberto Benzi), Sirti’s technical bid was sketchy and unsatisfactory from various points of view and, in any case, it was not better than AlmavivA’s.

The outcome of our application – concluded Mr. Tripi – will now allow Ferrovie dello Stato to purchase the IT services it needs at truly market prices, with huge savings compared to Sirti’s bid, and will allow us to help safeguard employment at our subsidiary TSF”.
