Alberto Tripi speaks at the Conference on “Competition in the new energy market”

(Press Release)

  • Mr. Tripi: “Market liberalization will be a moment of truth for the utility companies, which will be required to provide innovatory services to the public/customers”.
  • “The new multichannel technologies and services (CRM, web, call center) foster competition and contribute to cutting rates”.

Alberto Tripi spoke today at the Rome Conference sponsored by AlmavivA Group and IDC and attended by the main energy companies.

“We are fully aware – Mr. Tripi said – that this is a “moment of truth” in which, as citizens and entrepreneurs, we must keep in mind new values and efficiently tackle the problems posed by a different approach to 27 million families and users. Today we are making an enormous and, indeed, unprecedented “cultural” leap forward, which imposes on utility companies the duty to set out new strategies and create new models.

We must provide relevant and suitable answers to the questions the public and customers are asking – Mr. Tripi continued – based on the transparency, efficiency and quality of the service. There is no longer room for improvisation, nor can we ignore the centrality of customers, which have become demanding and mobile, and which require flexible and tailored responses.

The liberalization of the energy and gas market obliges the key industry providers to redesign and refocus their business strategies and policies, with respect to a competition framework in which customers have become a source of business. Innovation and new technologies play a decisive role in this enormous challenge.

The liberalization of the energy market is a historic opportunity to blend industrial and digital policies which is the winning formula of a modern and developed system. The new multi-channel technologies and services (CRM, web, call center) can foster competition and contribute to cutting rates”.
