AlmavivA recognised for having one of the largest corporate teams at the 16th edition of the Race for the Cure in Rome

On Sunday 17 May, the 16th edition of the Race for the Cure was held in Rome. This popular solidarity run raises funds for Komen Italia to support the fight against breast cancer, and is organised in a different Italian city every year.

There was an exceptional turnout of employees from the AlmavivA Group once again this year. Approximately 600 registered runners took part, with AlmavivA recognised for having entered one of the largest corporate teams.

Some 60,000 participants took to the streets in the centre of Rome, and the Circus Maximus was brightly coloured with the t-shirts worn by the “Ladies in Pink”, more than 5,000 women who have been operated on for tumours. They attended the event from every corner of Italy to increase public awareness of the importance of prevention and to send out a message of hope to all women.

AlmavivA has for some time now worked in conjunction with Komen Italia. Every year, it promotes the 'Day for Breast Cancer Prevention' at its head offices in Rome, to increase awareness of the need for prevention, raise funds for research and offer many employees a free ultrasound and mammogram.
