The best sustainable definition of the energy policy of a Country is a truly complex venture. An urgent goal that entails a reasonable reduction of costs and of the environmental impact, which in many parts of the planet has reached emergency levels, and minimizing the social damage caused by the energy system.
A goal that necessarily requires good quality and very accurate tools of analysis. As has been the case in hi-tech sectors for many decades now, such as aviation, space, meteorology, transport, we need to apply computerized simulation techniques before realizing an object, a plant, an industrial or energy system.
Energy experts and decision-makers will be meeting up, today and tomorrow, at the Rome headquarters of ENEA – the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development – to exchange ideas and experiences, with a view to fostering projects for the development of energy system simulations on the various geographical scales of interest and to support system planning activities and the management of anomalous situations.
