Almawave at CLiC-IT 2017, the fourth Italian conference dedicated to computational linguistics

CLiC-it 2017 is the reference forum for research on computational linguistics of the Italian community. Promoted by AILC (The Italian Association for Computational Linguistics), it will be held from 11th to 13th December at the headquarters of the Italian National Research Council in Rome.

In the belief that the complexity of linguistic phenomena requires multidisciplinary skills, every year the Italian Association for Computational Linguistics gathers researchers in various disciplines: linguistics, cognitive science, automatic learning, information technology and knowledge representation. On the afternoon of 12th December,

Almawave – the sponsor of the event – will present, “Neural Sentiment Analysis for a Real-World Application”. Giuseppe Castellucci, Andrea Favalli and Raniero Romagnoli of Almawave will be intervening. They will be joined by Daniele Bonadiman, a doctoral student/expert in artificial neural networks at the University of Trento, and by Alessandro Moschitti, Associate Professor of Information at the University of Trento and manager of the Qatar Computing Research Institute. During the event, an Almawave chatbot – created on the Telegram platform (an instant messaging app) – will manage in real time any applications by youths interested in joining the technological innovation company of the AlmavivA Group.

Almawave has long since been investing in voice recognition technologies, to make usable an information and linguistics channel that has yet to be valorised. Thanks to the subsidiary PerVoice, a company borne out of Trentino’s thriving research scenario ten years ago, Almawave is currently able to transcribe the audio and speech in 28 languages with extreme fidelity. The distinctive element of the innovation by Almawave and PerVoice is the transcription’s accuracy, which is now already close to 95% with regard to Italian.
