AlmavivA at the Ethereum Foundation Developers Conference in Cancún

AlmavivA will feature at the Ethereum Foundation Developers Conference, one of the world’s leading events dedicated to the blockchain sector.

The event, currently in its third edition, opened on November 1st in Cancún, confirming its ever broader scope and popularity. Giuseppe Bertone, Manager of the Distributed Ledger Technology Department, will be intervening for AlmavivA. His speech, scheduled for November 4th, will focus on the platform of the vine-growing and wine-producing chain that AlmavivA is developing for the (Italian) Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, using not only the Ethereum technology but also the main public network.

“We are building a platform for the Italian Ministry of Agriculture,” explains Giuseppe Bertone, “to track the operations of the vine-growing and wine-producing chain on the Ethereum main net. The platform is integrated with the Ministry’s existing systems. On a voluntary basis, wine producers can legally certify the traceability of all production stages and will soon have the possibility of replacing the current national certification system. Consumers can always verify the authenticity of the production chain, for example by scanning an NFC tag on the bottle thanks to a dedicated mobile application. In my speech I’ll illustrate the details of the platform’s architecture and how we tackled the various legal, process and integration problems that such a project implies.”
