I.Ter, the Geographic Cloud developed by AlmavivA for the Region of Campania, wins the 2016 Digital Agenda Award

I.Ter Campania – a solution for dematerializing and sharing land management data – was awarded a prize, today, in Rome, for regional innovation in the services offered to professionals, businesses and members of the public

Rome, 14 November 2016 - I.Ter, the Cloud, Open Source and Open Data platform developed by AlmavivA for the Region of Campania, in partnership with Trilogis and Planetek, was presented today with the 2016 regional Digital Agenda Award.

The award ceremony was held in Rome, at the conclusion of the Conference presenting the results of the Survey by the Digital Agenda Observatory of the School of Management of the Milan Polytechnic, in partnership with the Agency for Digital Italy AgID.

«The I.Ter project, launched by the Region of Campania in partnership with AlmavivA, is an instrument for achieving the full digitization of administrative land management and control processes – explained Antonio Amati, General Manager of the IT Division at AlmavivA. Its characteristics make it one of the most cutting-edge regional projects of its kind, and this award underscores the innovative effort we pursue as a constant goal».

I.Ter, a state-of-the-art solution, features a Decision Making Support System (DSS), which, thanks to a dashboard, can perceive and represent phenomena in the form of graphs and maps, also matching them and checking their progress: a tool for decision-makers, at the government and political levels, called to define government and regional development policies. Its functions include the capacity to monitor the overall waste collection process, to match the epidemiological analyses by the Local Health Authorities with the water supply data, providing useful information to the competent authorities on the phenomena observed.

Furthermore, it communicates with the Civil Protection Systems, to prevent hydrogeological instability and monitor seismic risk areas; it also collects and processes useful data for a range of economic activities, from tourism to manufacturing and freight transportation.

I.Ter features a Data Hub, as a single access point, for aggregating and processing all the databases of the regional departments and agencies, “geo-referenced” by the new Regional Cloud infrastructure, which it then makes available in Open Source and Open Data.

The platform is developed on the Software as a Service (SaaS) model and enables all regional users to configure the search functionality on the basis of geographical criteria, online and based on their needs. Thanks to its “social” component, it embodies a new concept of “Conference of Services”, for streamlining operations between different public administration entities and cutting costs.

The solution can be accessed through an App, also using mobile devices, and features interactive (3D) displays, thanks to an innovative open source Geo-Platform developed by researchers at the IMAA-CNR.
