SPC tender: data interoperability services and portal development go to AlmavivA

Amati: "Access to public services by private citizens and enterprise will be secure, simple and efficient"

Rome, 10 February 2017 – In a temporary association of companies with Almawave, Indra and PricewaterhouseCoopers, AlmavivA has come away with lots 3 and 4 of the tender for the Public Connectivity System (SPC). These lots go to complete the framework defined by AgID (Agency for a Digital Italy) with the support of Consip (Public Procurement Agency) and will allow the Public Administration to launch innovative enabling services with a community cloud system, thus implementing the Italian Digital Agenda and accelerating a digital transformation process throughout Italy.

"As envisaged under the Strategy for digital growth 2020, completion of the activities set forth in lots 3 and 4 means that public services for private citizens and enterprise will become more straightforward and accessible. This will primarily come about with mobile devices using secure, scalable and highly reliable architectures," commented Antonio Amati, general manager of AlmavivA's IT division. "Cloud-based service provision raises the safety levels of public management systems, guarantees savings and ensures efficiency".

Lot 3 has a value of 400 million euros in 5 years and involves the provision of data interoperability services and application-sharing systems. Activities which provide the Public Administration with innovative solutions for system integration as well as the acquisition and analysis of relevant data which is becoming increasingly available (big data) on the web and the internet of things. These are new instruments which will enhance decision-making processes within the Public Administration in line with the principles of transparency (open data), bringing the government closer to its citizens.

Lot 4 relates to the creation of portals and online services. It has a value of 450 million in 5 years. By developing sites, applications and web portals, the Public Administration will be able to provide its citizens and enterprise at large with new digital services which are straightforward, accessible, usable and of the highest quality, in compliance with the design guidelines established by AgID. Mobile services will be assured as well thanks to a mobile-first design and the development of dedicated Apps.
