The “Vicky – Assistente Virtuale Inpsvirtual assistant project has been selected as finalist for the 2007 European eGovernment Award.

The Award is open to European public administrations.

A total of 53 finalists were short-listed from among the 311 projects from 32 different countries (40 from Italy alone), split up into 4 categories.

The Vicky project ranked among the best in the “Participation and transparency” category (and was, indeed, the only Italian finalist in that category) and will now be competing against another 12 projects for the top place.

Next week the Vicky project will be presented to the European Commission in Brussels, as another step in its strategy to achieve victory.

Thanks to this first result, Inps and AlmavivA will be presenting the project with a stand and a demo at the EU Ministerial Conference on eGovernment in Lisbon, from  19-21 September 2007, attended by a large number of ministers from EU member States.

At the Lisbon Conference, a prize will be awarded to reward “inspiring” Good Practice, based on the online ballots received by each project.

Among the 4 Italian finalists, besides Vicky, there is another important AlmavivA project: SPT – Service Personale Tesoro – presented by Consip.

This first result is a tangible sign of the innovation capacity the Group is bringing to the market.
