Tunisia: Italian digital solutions for the local parliament

The AlmavivA Group project for computerising the Assembly of the Representatives of the People is now operational.

The digitalisation of Tunisia’s parliament was developed by the IT Division of AlmavivA. The project relative to the tender – won in 2014 – has been completed and the inauguration ceremony was held at the seat of the Tunisian Parliamentary Academy, at the presence of Mohamed Ennaceur, the President of the Assembly, and the representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Tunis.

The project, developed in the context of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and created by the AlmavivA Group, was acknowledged as the most innovative by the World Conference on e-Parliament in June 2016. In particular, the infrastructure constructed by AlmavivA and AlmavivA Tunisie developed the portal – accessible in three languages: Arabic, French and English – of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) of Tunisia, elected in the wake of the Jasmine Revolution of 2011.
