Connectathon Week 2021: AlmavivA at the event promoted by IHE - Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise

15-06-2021

Creating the IT structure of a real hospital, an ideal scenario for testing the systems developed by participants in a virtual healthcare organization: this is the theme of Connectathon Week 2021, the event organized by IHE - Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, which provides an opportunity to verify the adherence of “integration profiles” based on existing standards in the healthcare environment so as to stimulate the evolution of information systems’ interoperability and the appropriate sharing of data.

During the event AlmavivA will test certain developments: a vertical system used for researching and archiving clinical documents and two interoperability profiles associated with the management of clinical devices used in hospitals and in “patients’ homes”, enabling the use of telemedicine.

In terms of medical device management, AlmavivA has signed a partnership with the Personal Connected Health Alliance. The objective is to accelerate the technical, business, and social strategies necessary to advance the modernization of Connected Health, making it possible to improve health-related behaviors and the management of chronic diseases through connected health technologies.

PCHAlliance publishes and promotes the adoption of the Continua Design Guidelines, a flexible and easy-to-use framework that promotes end-to-end interoperability between personal devices and connected healthcare systems, which up until now have been closed and not set up for integration. The Continua guidelines, available in six languages, are recognized as an international standard by the United Nations' International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) and have finally become a common reference, capable of promoting the dissemination and full integration of these devices.

By participating in the Connectathon and signing the partnership with PCHAlliance, AlmavivA has made the Connected Health ecosystem part of the Giotto AlmavivA Enterprise Digital Platform, laying the groundwork for interoperability with healthcare information ecosystems and end-to-end interconnection between personal devices and IT systems, and consolidating its presence in the healthcare sector with solutions that are in line with the most advanced and internationally recognized technologies and references.
