“Injecting Designers’ Knowledge in Conversational Neural Network Systems”

The modeling of Conversational Agents and the creation of hybrid models: Almawave will be attending today the NLP4AI workshop organized by AI*IA2020, with a new scientific paper: “Injecting Designers’ Knowledge in Conversational Neural Network Systems”. The paper explains how traditional and purely symbolic approaches, based on explicit rules defined by a domain expert, can be used alongside approaches that rely on DeepLearning, based on neural networks.

The creation of a hybrid model allows for considerably increasing the performances of traditional systems and managing the typical problems associated with neural approaches in industrial scenarios.

The authors of the paper are Giancarlo Xompero, Cristina Giannone, Fabio Massimo Zanzotto, Raniero Romagnoli, Chief Technology Officer at Almawave, and Andrea Favilli, of the Almawave Language Technology Lab.
