The ASPHI Foundation occupies a special place in the ecosystem of AlmavivA social responsibility. This is a non-profit that has been operating for forty years in Italy to favor the independence and inclusion of individuals with disabilities in various contexts of life through the use of technology.

For ten years, the ASPHI research and experimentation operations have been oriented toward the needs of the fragile or non self-sufficient elderly, with particular focus on family members, caregivers and specialized operators.

As opposed to a view of aging as a degenerative condition to be contained, ASPHI has embraced the biological-psychological-social health model proposed by the World Health Organization, with the goal of placing the emphasis on enhancing the potential, rather than the limitations of old age.

Out of the ASPHI experience, unique in its kind in Italy, the ABCcare Platform has now been born, an extraordinary information place, replete with tips and tools that meet the growing social need of supporting families who take care of elderly relatives in fragile situations.
