The Naples Hack.gov comes to an end: two finalist projects of the challenge promoted by AlmavivA

The creativity and technology marathon, involving over two hundred young talents from around the globe for 48 hours at the Apple Developer Academy in Naples, has come to an end.

Two of the groups that took up the AlmavivA challenge on energy sharing reached the final: Virtual Matters, with the SHERENERGY project, involving an active role of the public administration and businesses in the production, management and distribution of renewable energy with benefits in terms of lower energy costs and reduced environmental impact, and SOSO, with the SOSOLAR project, centered on the creation of a community for energy sharing in public and private buildings through a gamification approach.

The champions of digital transformation will receive their award tonight, at the end of a day dedicated to the presentation of the best public administration practices. The ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Public Administration, Giulia Bongiorno, and will see the Secretary-General of Censis (Social Investments Study Centre), Giorgio De Rita, presenting the AGI/Censis Report dedicated to “Italians and the Public Administration.”

Twelve challenges were promoted by businesses and institutions according to the open innovation paradigm, with a jackpot of 37,500 Euro: besides energy sharing, proposed by AlmavivA, the youths challenged each other on issues such as energy efficiency (Eni), smart cities (Tim WCAP), digital public services for large urban areas (Eav), crowd security and management (Ericsson), protection of works of art (Techno S.r.l. - Capodimonte Museum), management and coordination of protected areas (WWF Oases), health care data analysis (Soresa), fact-checking (AgID, Agi & D-Share), open procurement (AgID, Soresa & the Campania Regional Authority), and cybersecurity (NTT Data).
