The importance of ICT in the country’s relaunch strategies promises to take a new step forward, consistently with the special funds allotted by the EU and also under the impulse of businesses. In 2020, in the midst of the health emergency, the digital demand in Italy will limit the drop to 2%, before picking up by 3.4% in 2021 and by 3.3% in 2022.
Marco Gay, the Chairman of Anitec-Assinform, the Confindustria association grouping the Italy’s leading ICT corporations, spoke at today’s presentation: “Digitalization is the most effective and sustainable choice for overcoming the difficulties and restarting. The signals coming from the market now tell us that this is a well-founded expectation. We now need to be determined and adopt a systemic approach to transform words into deeds and fully exploit Europe’s aid.”
Even if we were to consider the effects of the Recovery Fund with the utmost caution, the Italian digital market is expected to grow overall by 3.4% in 2021, to roughly 73 billion Euro, and by 3.3% in 2022, to more than 75 billion Euro, with all IT segments recording a positive growth: these forecasts were formulated with the collaboration of NetConsulting cube.
During the course of the press conference awards were handed out for the “2020 National Prize for Digital Innovation”, promoted by Anitec-Assinform, with the Italian Ministry of Education and the participation of corporations, bodies and cultural associations. The project is part of the strategic “Digital Republic” initiative. Among the winners of the Digital Opportunities category was the “G. Armellini” Technical Industrial Institute (Rome), for “The gym of the future - Recognition through biometric data in Cloud”, created with AlmavivA.
