“Building the Bridge”: AlmavivA at Connectathon Week 2022 in Montreux

Simulating the IT assets of a true hospital, an ideal scenario in which to test the systems developed by the participants of a virtual healthcare organization: this was the theme of Connectathon Week 2022, which just came to a close in Montreux, Switzerland. The event, organized by IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise), offered the opportunity for companies to verify the adherence of "integration profiles" based on existing standards in the healthcare environment in order to facilitate the evolution of their information systems’ interoperability and appropriate sharing of data.

During the event, AlmavivA tested out both a solution for researching and archiving clinical documents and two interoperability profiles associated with the management of devices that are in use in hospitals and in "patients’ homes", enabling the use of telemedicine.

In terms of medical device management, AlmavivA has partnered with the Personal Connected Health Alliance. The objective is to accelerate the technical, business, and social strategies necessary for modernizing Connected Health, making it possible to improve health-related behaviors and the management of chronic diseases through technology.

PCHAlliance publishes and promotes the adoption of the Continua Design Guidelines, a flexible and easy-to-use framework that promotes end-to-end interoperability between personal devices and connected healthcare systems, which up until now have been isolated and not set up for integration. The Continua guidelines, available in six languages, are recognized as an international standard by the United Nations' International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T), a common benchmark that facilitates the promotion and total integration of these devices.

By participating in the Connectathon and partnering with PCHAlliance, AlmavivA has made the Connected Health ecosystem part of the Giotto AlmavivA Enterprise Digital Platform, laying the groundwork for interoperability with healthcare information ecosystems as well as for end-to-end interconnection between personal devices and IT systems, and strengthening its presence in the healthcare sector with solutions that are in line with the most advanced and internationally recognized technologies and standards.
