Celebration into the night of Disability Pride, the march of pride for people with disabilities.

Hundreds of people posted the event’s hashtag #inclusivopresente from Via dei Fori Imperiali to Piazza del Popolo, where the performances and entertainment were accessible to everyone thanks to PerVoice, the interpreting service in Italian Sign Language.

“A society that nurtures its differences and values them, where everyone grows together and no one is left behind,” explained Carmelo Comisi, activist and president of the non-profit organization Disability Pride, as the idea of a community he would like.

And in fact, yesterday everyone followed that beat in Disability Pride in Rome, happening simultaneously in the cities of New York, Brighton and Dakar, representing the central position in a permanent campaign of information and awareness surrounding the fundamental message: “a community,” the organizers emphasize,” is really about knowing how to listen, understand and value the diversity and fragility of all social sectors, of which disability is only a part.”
