Istat has published the new platform for the dissemination of aggregate data (IstatData) which in the coming months will completely replace the I.Stat system. More than 50% of the content (more than 1 billion records) has been migrated to the new system for a total of approximately 250 datasets from different statistical domains.

IstatData was created thanks to the long-term collaboration between Almaviva and Istat, with the participation of Almawave and SisTer, active in the development of solutions and projects in the Data Science, Open Data Analytics, Spatial Intelligence and Decision Support System platforms.

The project, carried out using the "Istat SDMX Toolkit", as part of the digital innovation activities envisaged by the public connectivity system (modeling services, design and implementation of data interoperability solutions - Linked Data/Open Data/Big Data), provides for the use of the international standard SDMX for the publication and exchange of data and statistical information.

IstatData is enriched with graphs, maps and interactive dashboards with the possibility of direct "machine-to-machine" queries via web services. The software with which the IStatData portal has been implemented, Data browser and MDM, are made available by the same Institute for reuse by all public administration bodies.

The expertise gained by the Almawave group in this area enables it to support the entities involved in the open data-driven transformation process of the PA.
