Almaviva, an Italian digital innovation group, and Meteda, an Italian company that has been developing medical software and hardware for more than 20 years, have announced the signing of a commercial agreement. Under this agreement, Almaviva will distribute the outpatient medical record software for chronic diseases developed by Meteda in order to facilitate the management and treatment of chronic diseases in the community.
Based on the agreement signed between the parties, Almaviva will have the right to promote--exclusively in Italy--Meteda’s Clinical Platform for Chronic Disease Management, compliant with the NRRP guidelines, current paradigms of community healthcare, and the recent revision to the local set-up as per Ministerial Decree 77.
"The Agreement with Meteda," says Andrea Leonardo, Head of Healthcare Strategic Market for Almaviva, "aims to strengthen our vertical positioning in the healthcare sector, where we have already been operating for years as a system integrator and orchestrator of complex ecosystems, supporting central and local administrations and accompanying them in their digital transition.
This agreement, which is part of a broader and more ambitious corporate plan for industrial growth, demonstrates once again the group's willingness to enhance the quality of its portfolio, focusing on vertical market solutions capable of creating value and shifting the axis of care from acute to chronic conditions, thus identifying the community as the natural place in which to address residents’ needs and enabling treatment models, and settings in which to provide it, that are increasingly in line with the true demand for personal health and well-being.”
"The agreement with Almaviva," says Marco Vespasiani, CEO of Meteda, "falls within Meteda's expansive strategy toward new and more advanced digital frontiers in medicine. The experience gained from managing diabetes, one of the most complex diseases, prompted the development of an innovative solution designed to support clinical decision making in the outpatient management of other chronic diseases. This new product, like all our other digital solutions, is also a rigorously certified medical device and requires advanced skills for its effective promotion. This is why we’re so happy with the agreement reached with Almaviva, a leader and authority in the field of digital solutions for public administration. We’re certain that this project will make a significant contribution to national digital innovation programs in the healthcare sector, benefiting specialists and the large population of individuals affected by chronic diseases."
The unique strengths of the two companies will enable efficient integration of their solutions and great operational synergy, allowing for the joint delivery of highly innovative products and services. The partnership aims to expand access to treatment and promote more equitable sustainability of the healthcare system.
