SAN & Storage System Administrator

Rome office/Italy

We are looking for a SAN and Storage System Administrator with experience in enterprise contexts. The selected candidate will be placed on the storage operations team and will be responsible for the operation, development, and design of datacenter storage and storage area network solutions. The ability to perform activities in compliance with ITSM processes, consistent with systems operation, is required.

Duties:

• Configuration and installation of switch and storage (Block/File)
• Performance monitoring of switch and storage
• Troubleshooting
• Drafting of documents
• Willingness to perform day/night operations on critical infrastructures
• Willingness to be on-call according to shifts.

Required skills:

• At least five years of experience in the ICT sector and three years in the specified role
• Proven experience managing enterprise-class storage hardware and software (i.e.: DELL, IBM, HP, NetApp, Pure Storage, etc.)
• Proven experience with storage area network (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS)
• Configuration, installation, and administration via storage GUI and CLI (Block, File, and Object Storage)
• Experience in the administration of RAID groups, mapping, LUN masking, Snapshot, Mirror, cloning, and synchronous and asynchronous inter-storage replication (i.e.: VMAX, ExtremIO, Unity, PowerStore, PowerMax, VxRail, Recover Point, Vplex, Flash Array X, Storage Array FAS, etc.)
• Administration and configuration via SAN switch GUI and CLI (Cisco/Brocade)
• Good knowledge of fiber channel network protocols (FC, FCoE, FCIP, NPV, NPIV, iSCSI, DAS, etc.)
• Proven experience integrating AIX, Linux, Microsoft, and VMware systems with storage in a SAN environment
• Experience in troubleshooting and performance analysis of storage, SAN, and systems, both physical and virtual
• Proven experience in complex and/or large scale projects.
