IoT & Edge Solution Developer

Milan/Rome offices/Italy

Three years of experience and the following skills/abilities are required:

Organizational/Relational:

• Proper management of objectives, priorities, and delivery times
• Willingness to gradually take on greater responsibility and autonomy
• Ability to interact with the different parties involved in the various phases of a project
• Ability to get along, motivate, and share as part of a team
• Excellent level of written and spoken English.

Project Management:

• Understanding of the primary elements of project management.

Solution Architecture:

• Ability to analyze requirements in terms of technical feasibility
• Proven experience in designing, proposing, and implementing ICT solutions in the specified areas
• Expertise regarding the primary SOA/REST integration patterns and best practices
• Expertise in the use of DevOps tools
• Basic skills in the field of application security.

The position also requires experience in the drafting of technical tender documentation.

Parameters for evaluating IoT domain expertise:

• Familiarity with a major cloud services platform (i.e.: AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
• Knowledge of open-source solutions based on Linux platforms
• Knowledge of microservices development pattern and J2EE development via the Spring Boot framework
• Knowledge of the publish-subscribe and produce-consume communication pattern and familiarity with the primary message brokers (i.e.: Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
• Knowledge of SQL and NOSQL database technologies (i.e.: Cassandra, MySQL, ELK)
• familiarity with CI/CD development pipelines (i.e.: Jenkins, GitLab)
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies and Docker containers (Rancher, Kubernetes)
• Basic knowledge of IoT E2E systems, including HW, connectivity, and network issues
• Basic knowledge of network systems and OSI architectures
• Familiarity with wireless chipset solutions and modern RF architectures
• Basic knowledge of embedded systems and the ability to develop SDK/Agent for devices or server-side
• Extensive knowledge of IoT protocols MQTT, LWM2M, COAP, BLE, and NB-IoT
• Kknowledge of IoT ecosystems such as devices, modules, and chipsets, particularly LPWA, 5G, and LoRaWAN.

Project experience in some of the following areas is a plus:

• Soft skills: people management, team working, problem solving, project-oriented approach
• Ability to conduct training, coaching, and mentoring activities with the project team
• Ability to write functional and technical specification documents
• Experimentation of solutions in a scientific context
• Knowledge of AI and deep learning technologies in a scientific context (Pytorch, Tensorflow, Python scripts)
• Experience with IoT cloud services (i.e.: Azure IoT, AWS GreenGrass).
