AlmavivA Contact: reorganization, first joint assessment with the Unions

Rome, 1 April 2016 – Today AlmavivA Contact met with representatives of the local and national trade union organizations, at the headquarters of Unindustria Roma, together with plant-level union representatives, for a first joint assessment of the employee redundancy plan launched on 21 March.

The Company illustrated the measures set out in its reorganization plan, in view of the very serious situation caused by the structural crisis of the Italian call center industry, marked by ongoing distortion and affected by lack of certainty in the legal framework and the constant circumvention of the applicable rules.

These urgent measures are inspired by the need to tackle the non-viability of the Company’s operations, given the current conditions and solely with the tools at hand today, including the now longstanding use of the available social shock absorbers.

Moreover, the Company has highlighted the fact that, compared to the plus 15-year rooting of production operations in the various local areas concerned, an average of no more than 3.5% of employees has applied for a reduction of social security contributions over the last six years, a figure currently down to 1%.

AlmavivA Contact declared that although, to date, it has not been viable to suspend this procedure, it is committed to examining any process aimed at usefully solving the serious current problems, acknowledging the responsible and earnest role played by the Unions, in this respect.

The Company also re-iterated its willingness to enter into discussions with the competent authorities, convinced as it is that, based on mutual respect, the previous prejudicial attitude toward the company’s role and all other positions with no basis in fact or reality, have been abandoned by all concerned.
