WaterFill is a research project ESA CfP/6-60007/23/NL/RA (Proposal EV-KS-WaterFill).
EV-KS-WaterFill aims at the development of a platform that integrates ESA satellite data, IoT sensors, and artificial intelligence algorithms to carry out environmental monitoring of water resources. The Kick-Start phase includes the analysis of stakeholder needs and the definition of a business plan to identify potential clients and use cases.
The increasing pressure on water basins, accentuated by climate change and fragmented management, requires advanced monitoring tools.
ESA satellite data provides an integrated and continuous view of the water cycle, representing a strategic opportunity to innovate resource management, reduce environmental risks, and optimize water use.
The project strengthens Almaviva positioning in the sustainable management of water resources by proposing an integrated platform that combines spatial and terrestrial data with particular attention to quantitative and qualitative aspects.
