Rome in the Running to Host 2027 World Water Forum: Almaviva Group to Participate in Meeting with World Water Council Delegation Tomorrow

24-01-2024

As a member of the promoting committee for the Italian bid to host the 11th World Water Forum in Rome in 2027, Utilitalia will welcome the World Water Council's inspection team tomorrow morning at the Civita Association in Piazza Venezia.

The following individuals will participate in the event: Hon. Maria Spena, Chair of the Promoting Committee; Prof. Francesco Corvaro, Special Envoy for Climate Change; President of the Lazio Region, Francesco Rocca; and Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida (via videoconference).

The Almaviva Group, which is supporting Rome’s candidacy, will be represented by Franco Masenello, CEO of 2f Water Venture and B. M. Tecnologie Industriali. Masenello will talk about the group’s digitalization projects for integrated water services.

The World Water Forum, a platform for the international community to exchange views on programs, challenges, and opportunities related to the world of water, is held every three years in a different country that candidates itself to host events, debates, exhibitions, and business meetings. From agricultural use to issues of desertification, from the management of inland water to rising sea levels, from access to water resources to their distribution in our cities, all the way to global issues of "blue diplomacy".

Italy submitted its candidacy in late June to host the event “Regina Aquarum” in the city of Rome. Evaluation of the candidacies will conclude in spring 2024, with the winner being announced in May during the 10th World Water Forum, to be held on the island of Bali.
