The General Council of Confindustria, upon the proposal of President-designate Emanuele Orsini, today approved the presidency team for the four-year period 2024-2028 with 84% percent of the vote.

Alberto Tripi has been appointed Special Advisor for Artificial Intelligence in the team made up of five delegates and three special advisors, in addition to the ten vice presidents.

“Artificial intelligence is already present in everyone's lives and is already a reality. There’s no reason to be afraid of it." It was with these words that, in an interview with Giampiero Valenza for Il Messaggero, Alberto Tripi provided reassurance about the future and highlighted the opportunities that AI is offering us.

Starting with its name: “It’s not accurate to call it Artificial Intelligence. Rather, it should be called Assisted Intelligence.” “It isn’t an alternative to human intelligence. It can’t replace people. It just helps them to think better.”

It already provides considerable support in healthcare, manufacturing, tourism, mobility, and many other contexts. Can AI make mistakes? “Garbage In, Garbage Out": you can only get as much out of it as you put into it. The effectiveness of AI depends on the quality and accuracy of data.

The labor market will be transformed: "From an employment perspective, there's no need to fear AI. Certain trades will be replaced by others. New skills need to be cultivated, which is why companies are establishing academies."

We are witnessing an evolution: "No longer merely followers, we are growing professionally. AI is helping to keep us young.”
