World Water Day: An In-Depth Look at Almaviva’s Digital Solutions for the Water Cycle at the Fondazione Univerde’s Conference “Water and Agriculture: Sustainable Relationships” on March 26th

The theme chosen by the United Nations for this year’s World Water Day is ‘Water for Peace’. Water resources are essential for equitable and sustainable development, and water security is a basic requirement for economic development, food production, social balance, business competitiveness, and protecting the natural environment.

Each of us can do a lot to responsibly preserve this precious resource by adopting conscious behaviors in our daily lives.

In Italy, fragmented and inefficient management of water resources results in an average of loss of 42% within the network each year. Innovative components, digital models, and predictive processing can help improve the quality of the service provided. Almaviva’s value proposition includes solutions for different areas of action towards sustainable development, in support of the ecological transition and for the protection of water resources.

“Digital technology is the most important and current ally for mitigating the effects of water scarcity associated with climate change. Cutting-edge solutions make it is possible to create systems for monitoring, forecasting, and managing water resources and their impact on agriculture. Today, optimized water management in agriculture is essential, combined with the capacity to predict needs, as well as the weather, and to assess the state of the soil in order to anticipate any critical issues, thus obtaining precise and detailed data for each individual agricultural plot.” These were the words of Massimiliano Evangelista, Almaviva's Strategic Sales Lead for Environment and Territory.
